Position Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall daily operations and functions of Employee Health Services for the Organization. Coordinates pre-employment drug testing and medical requirements for new hires, such as TB testing. Provides evaluation and treatment of work-related injuries and illnesses. Assists with case management for workers’ compensation claims and Return to Work Program. Administers vaccine and health surveillance programs. Provides health and safety education and training programs, both formally and informally. Provides expert opinion on FMLA cases. Performs job-site evaluations for both hazard appraisal and ergonomic perspectives. Maintains documentation required by OSHA, EHS and Corporate policies and procedures. Maintains health information confidentiality. Assumes responsibility and accountability for time management, professional relationships and interpersonal communication. Performs other responsibilities necessary to promote a safe, healthy work environment for all employees. Manages and directs work of the Employee Health Clinician in the department.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license
  • BLS card from AHA required before start date (valid at least 60 days beyond start date)
  • Prior work experience in Employee/Occupational Health

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Occupational Health Nurse Certification (COHN)
